Sign Up for the FORGE Project Webinar

Fri, 16 December, 2022

We would like to invite you to attend a webinar dedicated to the FORGE project on 15 February 2023 from 13:00-14:00 GMT.

The H2020-funded project is investigating methods to optimise process parameters for the deposition of compositionally complex alloy and rare-earth powder on carbon steel substrates.

These materials will be deposited using two coating processes; cold spray and laser cladding. The project is seeking to optimise the microstructure of these smart coating systems with the deposition process parameters being adjusted to minimise the presence of defects and increase the mechanical properties including wear resistance and toughness.

The capability of the system to detect and monitor wear will be assessed through visual observation and spectrometric sensor measurements.

The webinar will be presented by TWI senior project leader for surface, corrosion and interface engineering, Dibakor Boruah.

Dibakor has worked as a leading researcher on multiple collaborative projects related to additive manufacturing and has over five years’ experience of industry led research in materials engineering.

You can find out more and register for this online event, here.

The FORGE project has received funding from the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 958457
